PUBLIC HEARING - 2/17/2004
Septage and Holding Tanks Disposal Rates Water and
Sewer Allocation Fees
A Public Hearing was held on Tuesday, February 17, 2004, at 10:00 a.m.
in the Commissioners' Hearing Room, County Government Center, to solicit
comments on potential rate increases for the following:
Septage and Holding Tank Disposal Rates:
- The proposed increase for septage is $.01 per gallon - from $.06 to
$.07
- The proposed increase for holding tanks is $.01 per gallon - from
$.01 to $.02
To Increase and Standardize Water and Sewer Allocation Fees Throughout
All Districts:
- The proposed increase for Water and Sewer Allocation Fees is for an
amount of up to $820.00 above the current rate of $2,240.00.
- The new allocation fees throughout all districts is proposed to be
$3,060.00 for sewer and $3,060.00 for water.
County Commissioners William W. Pickrum, Roy W. Crow, and Scott D. Livie
were in attendance as well as Susanne Hayman, County Attorney, T. Edward
Robinson, County Administrator, Wayne Morris, Director, Department of
Water and Wastewater Services, and approximately three interested persons,
one of whom was a representative of the media.
Notice of the Public Hearing was read into the record by Ms. Hayman.
Commissioner Pickrum inquired as to whether or not anyone wished to
testify pertaining to the proposed rate increases. Ms. Hayman indicated
that she and Mr. Morris will have a resolution prepared for the Board's
signature at their next meeting.
This hearing was taped for reference and adjourned at 10:05 a.m.
