  • The class will be held at the Clay Studio from 2 - 4:30 pm on Thursdays, running from March 31st through May 5th. (6 weeks)

    This course introduces the fundamentals of handbuilding to students of any experience level. Students will learn the process of handbuilding through pinching, coiling and slab building clay, and glaze their work into finished pieces to take home with them. Class time and the encouraged Open Studio practice time will enable students to create at their own level and improve their skills.

    Included with instruction is twenty-five pounds of cone 6 clay.

  • Joe Holt, our host for the Mainstay's new First Friday series welcomes Philadelhia-based vocalist Paula Johns in a program they call "Motown and More". She and Joe, our resident impresario, join forces to pay tribute to the African American Grand Dames of soul music and jazz.

  • No experience necessary! Open to all ages (children under 14 will need adult assistance). Clay will be provided as well as many items to imprint texture.

    You will make two lovely blossoms, a large Poppy and a Cala Lily, 3 to 6-inches in diameter on stems, to enhance your flower pots indoors or out. You will learn to hand paint them with underglazes the same day they are made. Colors and embellishments are up to your own creative instincts. The finished flowers will be bisque fired, and a clear glaze applied by the instructor resulting in a beautiful glossy finish.

  • Considered by many to be a "sacred magical art", the creation of a talisman with specific intentions written into the life-giving egg, the Pysanky is an ancient means to celebrate the cycles and events in nature and in life. Created using motifs rooted in nature and the cycles of life, designs are made with simple instruments (made of wood and copper) called kistkas, the humble materials of beeswax and candlelight, and intensely vibrant dyes.

    Instructor will provide ALL supplies including specialized pysanky tools, eggs, dyes, & more.

    This 6-week course is intended to be a "next step" for returning beginners. Students will expand and refine their skillset through skills instruction and weekly project assignments. This class is a great opportunity for you to move beyond the basic techniques and deepen your experience with wheel-thrown clay.

  • In October 1998 21year-old University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard was kidnapped, severely beaten, and left tied to a fence in the middle of the prairie outside Laramie, Wyoming. His bloody, bruised, and battered body was not discovered until the next day, and he died several days later in an area hospital.He was the victim of this assault because he was gay.Moisés Kaufman and fellow members of the Tectonic Theater Project made six trips to Laramie over the course of a year and a half in the aftermath of the beating and during the trial of the two young men accused of the killing.

  • GRAMMY-nominated lutenist, Ronn McFarlane strives to bring the lute into today’s musical mainstream and make it accessible to a wider audience. Ronn is a founding member of the Baltimore Consort, touring 49 of the 50 United States, Canada, England, Scotland, Netherlands, Germany and Austria. Originally a student of the guitar, he graduated with honors from Shenandoah Conservatory and continued his studies at Peabody Conservatory before turning his full attention and energy to the lute in 1978. This program is made possible by the Hedgelawn Foundation

  • "Paint the Town" is a 4-day event and artists have the opportunity to lose themselves while exploring the beautiful countryside and capturing it in their paintings. After 3 days of painting, artists gather back together on Saturday afternoon to frame & hang their finished work in RiverArts' gallery in preparation for the "Wet Paint Show & Sale. Once the show is up, the participating artists vote for "Best in Show" and "Best Body of Work". The ribbons will be placed just before the show opens to the public.

Our 2022 Raffle Quilt is "Autumn on the Bay"- using the Alaska pattern by Edyta Sitar for Laundry Basket Quilts. Raffle tickets will be available at the show.

The genre-bending acoustic trio's live shows feature compelling songwriting, and masterful instrumentation on guitar, mandolin, percussion, keyboard, all tied together with “three-part harmonies as tight as jeans from the dryer”. They have been formal mainstage artists at the Regional Folk Alliance Conferences and have performed at some of the country's best-known listening rooms and festivals, including The Kerrville Folk Festival (TX), Mountain Stage Festival (WV), The Birchmere (VA), Bethlehem Musikfest and Godfrey Daniels
