War of 1812 Battle of Caulk's Field—Bicentennial Re-enactment
On Sunday, August 31, 2014, exactly 200 years after the original battle, British and American troops met on Caulk's Field in a re-enactment of that fateful day. The battlefield is considered one of the most pristine battle sites on the Eastern seaboard from any war. Today you can stand at a memorial located at the site and look over the fields and forest and try to visualize the roar of the cannon, the crack of muskets and the yells of the troops as they engaged in battle.
